Thriving Hearts Crisis Center, formerly Guadalupe Valley Family Violence Shelter, founded in 1983 provides free, essential and confidential services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking and stalking. We serve Gonzales, Guadalupe, Karnes and Wilson counties. THCC has satellite offices in Floresville (Wilson County,) Karnes City (Karnes County,) and Nixon (Gonzales County). We operate The Cranny Thrift Store in Seguin.

THRIVING HEARTS CRISIS CENTER, INC.
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
JOB FUNCTION
This full-time exempt position develops and administers all program activities of
the organization in accordance with its stated purpose and within the general policies formulated by the Board of Directors. The ED will execute programs in such a manner as to ensure maximum benefits to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, their families and the communities. The position is responsible for overall direction, management and leadership of the organization.
MISSION STATEMENT
- To provide safety, shelter, and services to women and children who have fallen victim to family violence.
- To assist women in becoming self-sufficient through education, counseling opportunities, and provision of a supportive environment in which they can come to recognize their strengths and their capacity for positive decision-making.
- To foster a community of sharing wherein both adult and child victims can learn from fellow victims that they are not alone in their abuse, their pain, or in their recovery.
- To provide services essential to healthy resolution of issues related to violent histories; to seek to provide services aimed at prevention of future abuse to women and children.
- To develop programs aimed at enhancement of public awareness of the crime of family violence.
- To coordinate with local, state, and national efforts aimed at reducing the incidence of family violence while offering comprehensive services to victims.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 5-year equivalent type work in public administration, social work, non-profit management, experience in emergency shelter or advocacy center, or related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly public speaking; bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in organizational leadership, management, program and policy development/management and capacity-building.
• Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with community partners, corporations, foundations, volunteers, and boards.
• Financial management expertise in fund development, financial management (accounting, auditing, etc.), and fundraising with public and private sources.
• Knowledge of issues related to domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT/MANAGEMENT – ADMINISTRATION
• Lead organizational programs.
• Oversee the development, implementation and evaluation of agency programs and services.
• Work in conjunction with the Board of Directors to develop and implement a strategic plan for successful program delivery.
• Maintain and identify needed program and policy changes
• Make recommendations to the Board regarding program and policy changes.
• Maintain and oversee data collection systems for agency programs and for funding to track effectiveness.
• Monitor developing trends for evidence based service delivery.
• Coordinate and communicate services with other community agencies and organizations.
• Provide monthly reports.
HUMAN RESOURCES ADMINISTRATION
• Recruit, hire, supervise, coach, discipline, terminate employees and establish performance standards, timely employee appraisals.
• Create a strong team and facilitate conflict resolution among staff/employees, ensure that personnel and agency policies/practices meet all applicable employment laws.
• Implement personnel policies
• Implement strategies that improve agency effectiveness.
FISCAL MANAGEMENT
• Develop and recommend an annual budget for Board approval.
• Work closely with the Board Treasurer to report to the Board on the financial status of the agency monthly.
• Oversee maintenance of record keeping procedures, controls and oversight of budget expenditures.
• Maintain and submit time sensitive monthly/quarterly/annual grant reports that provides consistent agency funding.
• Ensure cost-effective procurement and allocation of all agency resources.
• Prepares for each annual audit.
• Prepare and publish a timely End-of-Year Appraisal to all donors and stakeholders.
RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT
• Develop and secure funding, including grant research, writing, financial, data collection/inputting and accountability reporting.
• Work collaboratively with the Board and the Fundraising Committee for the development and coordination of agency fundraising efforts.
• Develop and maintain community support by soliciting contributions of monetary and in-kind resources.
• Provide timely accountability reports and nurture long-term relationships with all funding sources.
FACILITY OPERATIONS AND MANAGEMENT
• Oversee the use and care of all facilities of the agency.
• Ensure appropriate maintenance, security and improvement of the facilities.
• Work with the Board to develop long and short-term plans for the agency's facility-related needs.
- Maintain and oversee the management and organization of in-kind agency donations.
COMMUNITY AND PUBLIC RELATIONS
• Represent the agency as its spokesperson in a professional manner with state, local or national agencies/organizations, coalitions, individuals and the community-at-large.
• Promote an effective, high-visibility and positive public image of the agency and its mission.
• Develop and implement marketing plans, media campaigns and promotional materials to increase the knowledge and awareness of the agency and issues related to domestic/sexual/human trafficking.
BOARD RELATIONS
• The ED Reports directly to the President of the Board of Directors.
• Provide agency leadership and provide communication and serve as liaison with the Board of Directors and its Committees.
• Prepare for and attend monthly Board meetings.
• Reports on budget and of the agency.
THE CRANNY THRIFT STORE
• Oversee and supervise the store manager.
• Ensure the store manager has timely access to all resources needed to facilitate the daily operations of The Cranny.
• Track and review financial reports, data and sales.
• Work directly with Property Manager/Landlord to arrange building maintenance, rent, emergency issues.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Current Texas driver license with clean driving record and proof of current auto insurance. Documents must be on file with the office. Must be willing to drive the insured vehicle on agency business.
- Certificate for Standard First Aid and CPR preferred.
STATEMENT OF CONFIDENTIALITY
- Must agree, in writing, to always assure client and agency confidentiality.
CRIMINAL HISTORY BACKGROUND CHECK AND DRUG SCREEN REQUIRED
- Must consent to a criminal background check and drug screen and have satisfactory result.

- Must comply with all THCC policies and safety regulations.
